Float Camellia Flowers In Water

I love the two camellia plants outside our cottage, I only wish they would last longer! Floating them in water is a great way to keep the flowers going and bring Spring indoors.

These particular plants have a special sentimental meaning for me as they were wedding presents for my Granddad & Grandma Dorothy who married when I was eleven and to whom I was bridesmaid. The cottage we live in now belonged to them.

One of the camellia plants was a gift from our wonderful Great Auntie Gladys, who at 96 we were still not ready to say goodbye to.

Every year when the camellias flower my Mum reminds me of the same story. Auntie had a Camellia in her own garden and used to send my Mum around to Mrs Brindley with some for her to float in a bowl of water. So every year I do the same, smile and remember my lovely grandparents and wonderful great auntie.
