Halloween Crafts – Toasted Pumpkin Seeds

After yesterdays pumpkin carving we had loads of pumpkin seeds to find a use for, we saved some for planting and craft projects, the rest we toasted, yum!

What we used

Pumpkin seeds!
Salt
Water
Oil
Saucepan
Colander
Baking trays

What we did

  1. Rinse the pumpkin seeds in a colander and removed the pulp.
  2. Boil the pumpkin seeds in salt water for ten minutes. The amount of salt you add depends on your taste and how many seeds you have, we added two heaped teaspoons but one probably would have been enough.
  3. Drain the water and spread the seeds evenly on oiled baking trays.
  4. Bake at about 200.c until a nice golden brown.
  5. Enjoy!
