Wool/Yarn oddment projects – Pom Pom Bookmarks & Keyrings

Pom Pom Bookmarks

Looking for a quick and easy project with yarn oddments? These Pom Pom characters are a great project for using up leftovers.

There are several methods for making pom poms, I recently came across this wonderful post by Red Ted Art www.redtedart.com/2014/10/14/pom-pom-making-techniques/ I’ve always used the circle cardboard technique but look forward to trying some of these out!

Once you have made you pom pom, attach another piece to the centre and crochet a simple chain stitch to your required length. Not into crochet? Why not plait some yarn instead.

A shorter chain/plait can be used if making keyrings

We added a couple of googlie eyes from the craft cupboard, buttons could also be used. The look very cute perched on top of a book

This projects can easily be adapted for other designs, we made flowers and holly leaves
